Local Partnership Continues Mission to Make Mammograms Accessible for All Women

ZANESVILLE, OH – Two organizations are coming together to help provide mammograms to the community.
For the past five years, Genesis Healthcare System and Coconis Furniture have teamed up to provide 370 mammograms.
Pebbles Kieber, the Director of Cancer Services, says this program has grown so much over the last few years and they’re excited to see where year 6 takes them.
“I mean for five years, we’ve built this program bigger and bigger.” Kieber said. “So this 6th year is going to be even bigger, last year we were able to complete 88 mammograms and so this year my goal is 100.”
Kieber says any woman, regardless if you have insurance or not, can sign up or scan the QR code to receive a mammogram.
She says that they never want finances to come in the way of getting essential screenings that could save your life.
“We know that early detection saves lives.” Kieber said. “The earlier that we can diagnose breast cancer, the earlier we can help you. So it’s really important that once you turn 40-years-old or your doctor recommends you to have a mammogram that you start getting them annually.”
If you are interested in getting a mammogram you can call Pebbles Kieber at (740)-454-4274 or head into any Coconis Furniture location to pick up a paper sign up form.
