Billy Joe Carter

Billy Joe Carter, 92, of Fultonham, passed away Monday October 6, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 28, 1933 in Humnoke, Arkansas, to the late Joe E. Carter and Ruby M. Carter. Billy retired from the United States Air Force as CMSGT after 44 years of service. He was a 45 year member of Uniontown Baptist Church. He is survived by two brothers Doug and Richard (Eloise). Four children Gene (Sherry) Carter, Matilda (Ken) Kirkland, Karen (Ronald) Mathews, and Rebecca (Rich) Egeland, 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-greatgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Sallie A. Carter, two sons William David and Timothy Joe, one granddaughter Mindi Fredrick. Billy was surrounded by his loved ones when he left to be with Sallie and the Lord. He had the biggest heart of anyone we know and loved his family dearly. Billy would help anyone, held no disregard for anyone and loved his wife and the Lord beyond measure. We will meet again one day. Thank you for everything, your teachings, wisdom, leadership, and your love. We love you Papa. Friends may call from 2:00 -4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday October 9, 2025 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 .m. Friday October 10, 2025 at Uniontown Baptist Church in Fultonham with Rev. Jonathan Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Fultonham Cemetery where the Zanesville VFW Post #1058 will conduct military honors.
