UPDATE: Medical Helicopter Called to Scene of SR 146 Crash
Wayne Township – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a 2-vehicle crash on State Route 146 near milepost 21 in Muskingum County.
Troopers with the Zanesville Post were dispatched Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. to a 2-vehicle injury crash involving an ODOT Truck.
Authorities said a 2014 International Dump Truck pulling an excavator, driven by William Green, age 45, of Philo was traveling eastbound on SR 146. A 2004 Dodge Ram 2500, driven by Dylan Sotherden, age 16, of Cumberland was traveling westbound on SR 146.
Authorities said Sotherden’s vehicle traveled left of center striking the ODOT vehicle head-on. The ODOT vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Sotherden was transported to Grant Hospital via AirEvac with serious injuries. Green was transported to Genesis with minor injuries.
Assisting on scene: Wayne Township EMS/Fire, Washington Township EMS/Fire, Community Ambulance, Ohio Department of Transportation, Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, and Muskingum County EMA.
The crash remains under investigation.
