NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System will be holding festive events at each of its branches throughout the fall, which will showcase the colorfulness of literacy.

MCLS Branch Services Coordinator Scott Glover detailed how people can participate in the upcoming events and how they will impact each community.

“Starting out with the first one, coming up this Saturday, here at New Concord that will be from 12 ’til 2. It’s going to be An Enchanted Fall Festival, with kind of a renaissance, folklore theme. So a lot of opportunity there to come dressed up, get snacks or refreshments, play some games. Just a really neat community event,” Glover said.

The Dresden Library will hold a Candy Corn themed event from 11 to 1 on the following Saturday, October 25th. It will feature a carnival type atmosphere with games, refreshments, a costume contest and plenty of activities for the kids as well.

“We have our Fall Party at our Duncan Falls-Philo Branch Library on Wednesday, October 29th. That will start at 5:30 p.m. That’s featuring Magic Nate and his Magic Show. So we’re excited about that. That always draws a large crowd. They’re also doing a costume contest as well there, so a lot of fun activities in that Duncan Falls area,” Glover said.

The fall themed event series will wrap up 5 p.m. on Monday, November 3rd, at the Roseville Branch Library. It will feature the crafting of paper bag scare crows, cinnamon slime and sampling some fall snacks. The free events are aimed at getting people into their community libraries and becoming acclimated to the convenient services such as video games, DVDs and books that are available instead of making a trip to Zanesville.
