2nd Annual ‘Recovery is Beautiful’ Walk
A walk to raise awareness of addiction, suicide prevention and mental health while celebrating recovery, took place Saturday morning.
The 2nd annual ‘Recovery is Beautiful’ walk took place at Zane’s Landing in downtown Zanesville. Local President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Paul Quinn said the walk is aimed to bring people together to show unity while getting a little exercise.
"These are all very isolating disorders. Because, of stigma and being shunned in general in public. Plus, the actually condition of their brain makes people want to stay in their room and not leave and that becomes a huge issue, people are isolated," said Quinn.
Quinn said to kick start the walk, a representative from the Mayor’s office read a proclamation.
