Norma Farquhar

Norma Farquhar, 89 of Blacklick passed peacefully at Wesley Ridge Assisted Living.
She was born on Wednesday, April 29, 1936, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William A. Comer and Marie M. Daniel Comer.
Norma graduated from Zanesville High School, class of 1954. She also attended Ohio University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in education. Norma was a dedicated Third grade teacher for 30 years. She loved to travel and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
She is survived by a daughter, Betsey (Robert) Farquhar-Bradish; two grandchildren, Ann (Justin Randles) Bradish and Joseph Bradish; and two great grandchildren, Kelvin and Leon Bell.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Farquhar; twin sister, Nancy Comer King; Brother-in-law, Billy King; and her second husband, Darrell Shahan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Norma’s name to any of her favorite charities, Planned Parenthood, Southern Poverty Law Center, Human Rights Campaign, The American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for Separation of Church and State or Population Connection.
A private service for immediate family has taken place.
