The 13th Annual Witches Tea Party was a wicked good time
A popular fundraiser for good.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – 128 people attended the Witches Tea fundraiser for the Zanesville Day Nursery on Friday for a wicked good time at the Zanesville County Club. This year marked the 13th anniversary for the fundraiser that goes towards funding educational, recreation, and social materials for the kids as well as classroom supplies.
The theme for this years event was “Enchantment in the Land of OZ : A Wickedly Delightful Tea & Luncheon” which featured children from the nursery, or the munchkins from Munchkin Land, singing songs and having fun.
“We invite people to come and enjoy getting together. We’re raising funds for the Zanesville Day Nursery children. And this is Halloween so it’s really fun. We have three presenting sponsors and lots of people coming in dressed in costumes, having a lot of fun,” said Nancy Beitzel, the Zanesville Day Nursery Board President.
The event was sponsored by Park National Bank, Southeastern Ohio CPA Group, and North Valley Bank. While the event itself is only 13 years old, the Zanesville Day Nursery has a much longer history.
“The day nursery is located at Linden and Lee Streets here in Zanesville. It’s been in existence for 110 years. It was started in 1915 by the Women’s Benevolent Society and we help care for who are infants through five years old,” Beitzel said.
