Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Auggie!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This weeks dog of the week is a young pup who’s a ahead of his time and ready to find his future family.
Meet Auggie, a male terrier mix who is around 5 months old with a playful spirit and a love for kids. Auggie stands out to K-9 Adoption Center volunteers like Doug McQuaid because he is already learning to sit and shake, showcasing an ability and eagerness to learn quickly.
“Always remember, when you’re adopting a pup, you know, like this one here, We’re pretty much starting from scratch,” said McQuaid. “So whether it’s house training, crate training, riding in your car, going for a walk, how to approach other dogs, maybe even be around cats. You know, there are so many things this dog will be able to learn because of it being as smart as it is. He’ll just make a great companion for a family, maybe with kids.”
With the holiday season already gearing up, McQuaid has some Christmas season highlights the community can look forward to from the adoption center.
“Dec. 7 will be our Christmas holiday event at the fairgrounds. So, continue to keep watch on our website for that. We still have tons of t-shirts for sale, all sizes and all colors. They are $5, they can be purchased here at the K-9 Adoption Center. We’re open everyday but Monday. So that would be something if you’d like to stop in and do that, we would appreciate it,” McQuaid said.
