Dog License Coloring Contest

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The county is adopting a new, nifty little way for area children to win a free dog license for their family pet.
Muskingum County Auditor Tina Huebner announced a creative new coloring contest for kids that aims to bring awareness to the importance of dog licensing while promoting responsible pet ownership.
“So to participate, simply download… download a coloring sheet and you can find that at the Muskingum County Auditor’s website,” Huebner said. “And to complete entries, they must be received no later than Wednesday, November the 26th. And three ways that you can return them, by mail, you can bring them into the courthouse in-person or you can email them in.”
Each winner will receive a dog license and a basket of goodies. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 5th. Ohio law requires all dogs over three months and older to be licensed annually between December the first and January 31st.
“So the coloring contest is as of a dog,” Huebner said. “So the sheets have clearly a dog. Two different levels and we are just looking for the creativity of the different colors and just to see what our youth will create for us. The winner of each age group will receive a free dog license and a goody basket.”
Submissions will be posted on the wall outside the Auditor’s Office inside the courthouse through the end of January. For more information and contest entry you can visit the Muskingum County Auditor’s website.
