Robert “Bob” Jones
Robert “Bob” Eugene Lee Jones, 88, of Zanesville, Ohio died Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025 at Beckett House Healthcare and Rehabilitation in New Concord, Ohio.
Born January 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Aurthur H. & Blanche M. (Billman) Jones and a member of Duncan Falls Baptist Church. He worked as a welder for Rockwell International and was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club as well as several other antique car clubs. Bob had a love for antique cars, especially Fords. He loved his Fords so much that he worked in North Carolina for 15 years selling Ford parts to likeminded enthusiasts. Bob loved to spend his weekends taking his 1936 Ford Sedan to car shows and giving friends, new and old, advice on where they could find the car parts they needed.
Surviving is his wife, Carol Jones; son, Robert E. H. (Dawn) Jones; daughters, Brenda (Gregory) Long, Juanita Tonathy, Joyce Heitger, and Susan “Sue” (Jess) James; five grandchildren, Mario Tonathy, Brittany Tonathy, Jennifer Mitchin, Anthony Heitger, and George Heitger; two great grandchildren, Collin Slusser and Theodore Tonathy; his fur companion, Lilly and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bob’s children would like to send a very special thank you to Kenny and Shirley Jones for being excellent caregivers for their father for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Noel, Helen Garver, and Blanche Gill and four brothers, Edward “Ed” Jones, John Jones, Franklin “Frank” Jones, and Arthur “Art” Jones.
Friends and family may call 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Benny Nutter officiating.
Bob will be laid to rest by his parents in Old Stone Cemetery in Zanesville, Ohio.
