Robert Rettig

Robert M. Rettig, 61 of Gratiot, died, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his home following a lengthy battle with heart disease. He was born Monday, August 24, 1964, in Suffied, Ohio, the son of Robert “Bob” Rettig and Leonore “Pumpsie” (Schmidt) Rettig.

Robert had a great appreciation for nature and enjoyed the beauty of nature and the sounds of nature. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his son, Michael.

Robert is survived by his fiancée, Sarah George; three children, Robert J. (Ashley) Rettig, Raeanna Rettig, and Michael Rettig; step-children, Kimberly Swinderman, and Dakota George; grandchildren, Colton Rettig, Kaydence Swinderman, Gohan Swinderman, Karma Harper, Alistar Harper and Sophia, and one brother, John Rettig.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
