MVHC Player of the Game – Week 14

ZANESVILLE, OH – Coming off an elite eight appearance in the OHSAA tournament, it should be no surprise that our final ‘MVHC: Player of the Game’ comes from the New Lexington Panthers.

One would never know that Colton Mathias was just a sophomore this year, or that he was running back ‘number two’ for the MVL small school division champions. Mathias accounted for eight touchdowns this season and over 500 yards on the ground, let alone 42 more through the air.

Mathias is a player that the Panthers could depend on more than once this season, and will look to do for the future as well when he becomes running back ‘number one’ next fall.
