ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Bishop Rosecrans retired 1999 graduate Joe Bills’ jersey prior to its showdown with Grove City Christian Tuesday night at Rogge Gymnasium, making Bills the first Bishop basketball player to receive the honor.

A three-year starter and first-team All-Ohioan, Bills helped lead the Bishops to the D-IV state championship during his sophomore season and graduated as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,601 points.

The former Bishop went on to play four years at Division I Wright State University before taking up coaching. He is currently the head coach of Columbus power St. Francis DeSales.
