A live nativity with more than 50 actors comes to Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This Christmas season, you’re invited to the Zanesville Bible Methodist Church to experience their annual Live Nativity Drama.

Located at 925 Grove Road, the church continues its 15-year tradition that will feature over 50 actors, live animals and an era-themed drive-thru market place.

“Cars will come through. They’ll come at the back side of the church and there’ll be vendors there pretending they’re selling. They’re not, it’s all free, everything they give away,” said Titus Byer, pastor for Zanesville Bible Methodist Church. “The one vendor is giving away barley sticks but they’re just french fries. And yeah, kids are helping, getting involved and fresh fruit and handing that out and we have a great time.”

After visiting the marketplace, visitors can then enjoy the live nativity drama where hot chocolate and fire rings are available to help beat back the cold.

“They’ll park up in the parking lot and then walk and they’ll wait for little bit and they’ll be given cookies and hot chocolate. And then, shepherds will come out and a drama will begin talking about the angels and a guide will lead them to the manger where Mary and Joseph are at. And, there’ll also be an inn scene and a roman soldier in that play,” said Byer. “I don’t want to give it all away but there’s a drama you can come and experience and it’s very kid-friendly, family-friendly.”

The live nativity drama is Friday and Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and is free to the public. The first 200 cars to visit a free Christmas ornament.
