Betty Fell
Betty Cary Fell, 94, of Zanesville passed away at 5:25 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville.
Betty was born June 23, 1931, in Zanesville, Ohio. The daughter of J. Bernard Cary and Margaret Mercer Cary.
Betty graduated from Zanesville High School (Lash) in 1949. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zanesville and was an active member of the Lutheran churches she attended over the years. She loved travelling overseas with her late husband of 58 years, Robert Fell, Sr., especially to Japan. She and Bob enjoyed yearly cruises with their four sons and daughters-in-law as well as camping with Bob’s brothers and their wives. Her favorite pastime was reading.
Betty is survived by her beloved sons Robert Bruce (Deb) Fell, Jr. of Chapin, SC and David Anthony (Marcia) Fell of Lima, OH; daughter-in-law Hollis Fell of Zanesville, OH and daughter Harumi Sawamura Ishibi of Tokyo, Japan; brother-in-law and Bob’s twin brother Bernard J. Fell of Butler, PA and sister-in-law Diane Fell of Zanesville, OH; Cherished grandchildren Richard Andrews (Jamie) Fell, Chad Robert (Samantha) Fell, Cary Elizabeth (Matt) Wenning, Michael Yeiser, Jennifer (Jordan) Williams), Adrienne Allen Morton Davis, Acy Jackson and Lance Arnett, (husband of Jaime Arnett). Great grandchildren Brady Arnett; Maddie and Caroline Fell; Alexa and Ethan Robert Fell; Isabelle and Ava Yeiser; Jordan and Jada McClendon; Tawanne and Mike Rodgers; Jed, Tyrese, Aven James and Kristopher Morton Allen Davis; Jayci and MaKenzi Jackson, Elizabeth Grace (Ella), Eliana Marie and Anthony Matthew Robert Wenning and many beloved great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Fells and Glossers. Dear Godson Steven (Connie) Klement and her husband’s namesake, Robert Morrill as well as caregiver and friend, Bonnie Wilson.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty is preceded in death by their beloved sons, Bernard Cary Fell and Benjamin Richard Fell, II; granddaughter Jaime Fell; daughter-in-law Joyce Fell and sister-in-law, Shirley Fell.
A memorial service in Betty’s honor will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 7th Street, Zanesville, OH at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with Rev. Larry Kudart officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the church reception area from 12 noon to 1:00 PM. Following the service, a reception will be held at the church parish hall for a time of fellowship and sharing memories. Betty and Robert Sr. will once again be joined together in eternal rest at Zanesville Memorial Park following the gathering at the church.
