Arnetta Morrison

Arnetta Alice Morrison, 73, of Avondale, passed away on December 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 10, 1952.
Arnetta spent the past year fighting with every ounce of her being after suffering a life threatening illness in January. With months of therapy and many setbacks, she continued showing strength and resilience. Leaning on faith and the promise of eternal life with our Lord and her loved ones, she bravely made the decision to stop the fight.
She was the middle child with four brothers and four sisters. Her childhood was enjoyed “on the hill” in White Cottage where she spent many hours outside in the sunshine and fresh air with her siblings. This is where she said she always felt safe. A memory she shared was that she loved being home with her mom so much she would sometimes hide under a bridge near their home until she was spotted , then walk back real slow.
Her teen years were filled with good times with her friends. They would often go for rides and listen to music. She met her first husband Zane Weaver in high school and later had four children together.
As an adult, she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital where she was a dietician assistant. If you called the cafeteria between 1980 and 2015, you were likely to have talked to her. She met many wonderful people during this time and was affectionately known as Angel by her co-workers. She married the love of her life in 1980. Eventually, the family moved “down home” to Avondale where she loved to be with her mom.
Along with sitting with her family sipping coffee, she enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking the food she grew.
She is survived by her son Shane and Sandy (her loving caregiver) Weaver. Daughter Misty (Bob) Eveland. Step-son Rich Morrison. Sister Linda (George) Wilson. Brother Paul (Marcia) Hunt. Sister Lorna Northrup. Sister Tina (Bill) Evans. Grandchildren Tyler, Dustin, Sarah, Nick, Matt, Patricia, Lindi, and Mandy. 13 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Faithful companion Candy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Loren and Wanda (Castor) Hunt. Loving husband Tom Morrison. Infant children Susie and Cody Weaver. Brother Darrell (Joyce) Hunt. Brother Larry Hunt. Sister Holly Hunt. Brother Virgil Hunt. Brother-in-law Bill Northrup. Step-son John Morrison. Grandson Austin Eveland.
Friends may call from 3:00 -6:00 p.m. Monday January 5, 2026 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive in White Cottage where funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Dunn officiating. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
