Jamie L. Yeager, 62, of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 5, 1963, in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of the late Betty Ruby and Donald Downerd.
Jamie was the heart of her family and will be remembered most for the deep, unconditional love she poured into those around her—especially her grandchildren, who knew her lovingly as “Mimi.” Being a Mimi was one of Jamie’s greatest joys. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether it was sharing stories, laughter, hugs, or simply being present. Her love was warm, patient, and unwavering, and each grandchild held a very special place in her heart.
Along with her tender heart, Jamie was known for her unmistakable strong spirit. She spoke her mind, stood her ground, and brought humor and honesty into every room she entered. That same strength showed in her willingness to help others—Jamie never hesitated to lend a hand, offer a listening ear, or show up when someone was in need. Her generosity, loyalty, and fierce love for those she cared about left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Jamie also had a creative spirit and was a truly crafty soul. She found joy in making things and had a special talent for turning simple materials into meaningful keepsakes. Many of her handmade creations were gifts of love for her family and friends, each one a reflection of her thoughtfulness, creativity, and generous heart.
Jamie is survived by her seven children: Jeffrey Hagar, Kate Hagar, Maggie Anderson, Jordan (Brett) Turrentine, Jessica Kane, JoJo (Dylan) Kane, Kaylub Yeager, and Bre-ella Sizemore; her siblings: Donna Hagar, Iola Hagar, Bobbi Hagar, Doris Diddsse, Nancy Hagar, Connie Hagar, Gary Hagar, and Marsha Reeser; half-sister, Charlene Downing; nieces, Leslie Hagar and Alex Reeser; nephews, Adam Hagar and Cole Reeser; her beloved grandchildren: Liam, Emmett, Cohen, Maddix, Zoey, Braelynn, Liliana, Aspen, Rowan, Keilani, Michiah, Evelyn, Maverick, Hayden, Archer, and Tatum; aunt, Kay Lance; special cousins, Bonnie, Heather, and Breanne; special friends Kent Anderson, Nancy Galbreath, Janice Jones & Tracy Stevens; her beloved cats, Amara and Castiel; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving niece Lori & life-long sweetheart Joseph Kane.
