Erin Scott Winkelmes

Erin K. Scott Winkelmes, 60, of Zanesville, died at 1:20 P.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Willow Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Zanesville. She was born April 2, 1965, in Zanesville, a daughter of Martha Scott and the late Michael Scott. After high school Erin attended Ohio University majoring in education, she went on to dedicate her studies as a teacher at Tri-Valley Schools. She was an avid animal lover, especially horses and she participated in competitive horse shows. Erin will be missed by many.
She is survived by her son, Nathan Winkelmes; a sister Audrey (Jim) Swackhammer; two brothers, Matthew (Michelle) Scott, and Stephen Scott; her companion, Mike Bugay; many nieces and nephews; her Tri-Valley teaching family; and the countless students whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 15, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 25 East Main Street, Zanesville with Father Sean Dooley as celebrant. Erin will be laid to rest at Mount Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
A loving cremation will be held under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
