Village of Dresden celebrates bicentennial

DRESDEN, Ohio-Â The village of Dresden is continuing their bicentennial celebrations this month.
To celebrate the 200 year anniversary, the village is featuring a different event each month. For the month of January they have ‘An Evening with AJ Angelo.’
Dresden Mayor, David Matthew, said AJ Angelo played on the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and is a good friend of his, and the village.
Bill’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q will be catering the meal and the theme is the Ohio State Buckeyes.
“We ask [everyone] to wear Buckeye attire and celebrate the Buckeye’s season; good, bad or otherwise,” said Mayor Matthew.
Mayor Matthew encouraged the community to join them in celebrating the anniversary of the village, and to support the bicentennial committee.
“We’re proud of our heritage and proud of our little community and we’ve been blessed with a lot of amenities and we would just like to celebrate that,” said Mayor Matthew.
The village was plotted in 1817. Mayor Matthew said he remembers the sesquicentennial in 1967.
The event will take place on January 11th at the American Legion Post #399 at 1385 Main St. in Dresden. Pre-sale tickets are available at The Thirsty Dawg Drive-Thru until Tuesday afternoon.
