ZANESVILLE, Ohio – January 9, 2017 the Muskingum County Library System’s new Director of Libraries started her position.

Jennifer Spillman is the newest Director and Spillman has been working in Library Systems for about 20 years. Spillman worked in multiple capacities, but her last position was a manager of the main Dayton Metro Library. Spillman said her first week in the Muskingum County Library System has been amazing.

“I have experienced a very warm welcome here at Muskingum County Library System, in both staff interactions and patron interactions,” said Spillman. “Everyone seems very excited to get to know me, understand my leadership style, where I came from and where I’m hopefully going to lead the library system.”

Spillman said she’s currently studying what services, programs, and technology the library system has to offer patrons.

“And then I want to forge a head with new technologies, new collections, maybe even refresh some of the buildings,” Spillman said. “Our Dresden branch is getting a re-model right now its opening January 27, 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and I’ve been inside it, its fabulous.”

Spillman wants everyone to know that everything in the library is free with a library card. Spillman got her library card this week and is encouraging everyone that doesn’t have their own library card to see about getting one.
