Steven Summers

Steven Summers age 77, of Marietta, OH passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at his home. He was born July 7, 1948 in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Robert and Francis Deem Summers.

He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School where he was a proud varsity basketball player. He later graduated from West Virginia University with a master’s degree. Steven served and protected his nation and his community for over 20 years in the U.S. Army and Washington County Sheriffs office. He was a member of the American Legion Post #64. Being an avid golfer, master gardener and campfire connoisseur were just a few things Steven was known best for. Not much gave him more joy than his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his 3 dogs.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a great-grandson Branson Berg and father-in-law Robert Westbrook.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Angela Summers whom he married March 19, 2010; daughters Lisha (Karl) Kronmann and Stephanie (Chris) Berg; step-daughters Brianna (Zachary) Reese and Jena Casto; grandchildren Tyler (Shylah) Berg, Corey (Tina) Berg, Liam Reese, Emma Reese and Axel Huffer; great-grandchildren Lilly, Barret and Brynn Berg; siblings Mike Summers, Kathy Swatzel and LouAnn Hamrick; mother-in-law Janet Westbrook; sister-in-law Robin (Randy) Oneal; brother-in-law Mark (Lorel) Westbrook and Eric (Kari) Westbrook. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and the mother of Lisha and Stephanie, Billie Summers.
