Zanesville Museum of Art recognizes Charles “Chick” Gorsuch

Charles Gorsuch Life Trustee Emeritus Award At The Zanesville Musuem Of Art July 2015 2

ZANESVILLE, OHIO- The Zanesville Museum of Art lost a dear friend last week with the passing of the long-time supporter and life trustee, Charles Gorsuch.

Laine Snyder, Executive Director, Zanesville Museum of Art, said Gorsuch reshaped the museum over the past 60 years.

“He was significant in the transition on the Adair-Maple Zanesville Art Institute moving to the 620 Military avenue location in 1977,” said Laine Snyder.

She said that Gorsuch also played a big role in the building campaign back in 2001 to add the extension to the museum. He also provided a leadership gift, which is known as the Shirley Gorsuch Gallery, named after Charles’ wife, Shirley.

“The Shirley Gorsuch Galley will have a new look.  We have been working with the Gorsuch family for several months now.”

Snyder said that they will reinstall the Gorsuch gallery and the doll collection in the future.  She said it has become a real family favorite within the community.
