COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a three-year run of games being played at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, the OHSAA football state championship games are moving back to Canton.

At Thursday’s meeting the Board of Directors approved the move for all seven games to return to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton in 2017 and ‘18. From 1990-2013 the games had been played in Stark County before moving in 2014 to Columbus while construction was taking place on Canton’s stadium.

The vote passed unanimously. The exact time and dates of the games will be finalized this spring. The OHSAA intends to return to Ohio State University in 2019, although no details have been finalized yet.
