MCCF Groundhog Day Event

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â The Muskingum County Community Foundation held their annual Groundhog Day Celebration Friday evening.
The event featured silent auctions, a live auction and presented awards to recognize outstanding members of the community.
Brian Wagner, CEO of Muskingum County Community Foundation said an event like this is important because it brings the community together.
“We get to recognize a couple of wonderful individuals, the Stewart brothers, Charlie and Bill with the Dick Johnson Civic Leadership Award, and Chris Zemba with the Community Leadership Award, for all of the efforts they’re giving back into the community,” said Wagner.
Wagner said they got a lot of great support from the community as well. That support will end up going right back out into the community to benefit local charitable projects.
“All of the proceeds that we raise will go right back into our Spring grant competition,” said Wagner.
He said they’re requesting non-profit organizations and other projects within the community to apply for those dollars.
“We will grant [them] back out to help support them in the efforts that they’re doing to improve Muskingum County,” said Wagner.
MCCF is celebrating their 32nd anniversary. The Groundhog Day event has been going on for about 25 years.
