Attempted abduction warning update

GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio – The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office issued an update Friday afternoon, after they put out an attempted abduction warning.

Sheriff, Jeff Paden, said that a man called into their office Friday morning after hearing of the news release.

The man later met with investigators and believed he was responsible for the scare.

He stated that he was taking his grandson to the bus stop, and was unfamiliar with the location, so he was driving slowly. His grandson told him that he was in the wrong spot, and then drove off.

Sheriff Paden said no words were exchanged between the man and the children, and investigators met with the parents of the children. They confirmed through a picture it was the man’s truck.

A thorough investigation has been completed, and Sheriff Paden believes there was no intention of enticing children into the man’s truck.
