Ralph “Peach” R. Mitchell

Ralph “Peach” R. Mitchell, 75 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House on Friday, January 23, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
Peach was born on January 22, 1951, in Zanesville. He is the son of the late Clarence E. Sr. and Mary E. (Black) Mitchell. Peach was raised on a dairy farm near Adamsville. Most of his adult years were spent working for Clinton Oil then for himself doing residential roofing and siding until retiring in 2012. In his younger years, he enjoyed the outdoors, trapping, hunting, and mushroom hunting. He enjoyed caring for a wide variety of poultry and other small animals, and sharing his hobby with his children.
Peach is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Cindy (Melvin) Mitchell, whom he married on February 21, 1975; his children, Amber Wilson, Cameron “Buck” Mitchell (Kelsey), as well as his daughter, Michele Lee Hague; his four grandsons, Tanner “Oat” (Destiny) and Gage (Elijah) Wilson, and Bryndel and Brennen Mitchell Simpson; his siblings, Clarence “Bud” (Beverly) Mitchell Jr., Samuel (Andrea) Mitchell, and Daniel Mitchell; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Peach is preceded in death by sister and brother, Susan Knicely and Jeff Mitchell.
The family would like to extend a warm and sincere thank-you to the staff of Genesis Hospice and Dr. Austin for their care towards Peach.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Peach’s honor to Genesis Hospice, which can be made by mailing a check to 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43762.
Visitations will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. A funeral service will take place following visitations at 1 PM. Pastor Eric Waltemire will officiate the service. Peach will be laid to rest in Heaven’s Gate Cemetery in Adamsville.
