2026 Dude Be Kind Week is Ahead!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Mid-East Career and Technology Centers are gearing up for their annual Dude Be Kind Week.
Dude Be Kind Week will run from Sunday, February 8th, until Saturday, February 14t,h 2026. The goal of the week is to encourage everyone to focus on how much kindness matters in the community. They hope to spark conversations and deliver activities that help promote kindness, gratitude, and inclusiveness. Kim Tatman, the Communications Coordinator for Mid-East, says they also have some pretty exciting news to share about this year’s dude be kind week.
“It’s huge for us, and it’s really huge for our students to see the communities rallying around what they’re doing,” says Tatman. “So all four County Commissioner Groups from Guernsey, Noble, Muskingum, and Perry counties have declared our week, and Official Dude Be Kind Week throughout their counties. Representative Adam Holmes is declaring in his district, and then Congressman Troy Balderson is also declaring in his district as well. So just to see that support at all of those levels just really shows the kids that the communities are behind what they’re doing,”
You can also get involved with Dude Be Kind Week! If you are a business or organization, you can place the dude be kind sign out front or participate in any of the daily suggestions Mid-East has created. Tatman says the key thing to keep in mind is to remember what kindness feels like, what it sounds like, and what it looks like.
“Businesses can put a message out on their signs that just says something simple like, ‘We support Dude Be Kind.’ So when our kids drive through the community, they get to see that all of these places support what they’re doing and that they’re on board. Schools are the same thing; if they have an outdoor sign, they can put a message on their sign,” said Tatman.
