Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Lavender!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week’s dog of the week is just a puppy, but still can bring a calming effect like her namesake.
Meet Lavender, a 6-month old lab mix who is spayed and ready to find her forever home. She can be bashful when you first meet her but soon you’ll have a cuddly and affectionate friend for life.
“When you first meet her, she’s a little shy, but seems to warm up with everybody. Loves to play with her toys. That’s one of her big things is getting in a toy box with a lot of toys and picking them out,” said Doug McQuaid, K-9 Adoption Center volunteer. “One of the favorite things that I’ve found about her that I like the most is she loves sitting beside of you and getting all the attention she can get. So, that’s just always been something that’s a favorite of mine.”
With below-freezing temperatures being the norm this week, K-9 Adoption Center volunteer Doug McQuaid says it’s time to make sure every dog is inside and kept warm.
“Please, please, please, bring your pup in,” McQuaid said. “The cold frigid weather is not going to go away. Any temperature that seems too cold for you is too cold them. ”
If you are interested in adopting Lavender or a dog like her, you can call the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center at (740) 453-0273. You can also renew your dog license at the adoption center and if you need help keeping your dog fed, the adoption center has free dog food available.
