Robert “Bob” Dodson

Robert A. “Bob” Dodson, 86, of Zanesville, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Saturday January 31, 2026 at The Oaks at Northpointe. He was born on January 13, 1940 in Zanesville, a son of the late Roy and Ruth (Leddy) Dodson. He was a United States Army Veteran, retired from Putnam Transfer after many years of service. He was a member of Newton American Legion. At the age of 16 he moved in with his Dodson grandparents to help on the family farm. Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling.

He is survived by two brothers Norris Dodson and Roy Dodson. Three sisters Kathy (Jeff) Moore, Ruth Ann Brock, and Dianna Dodson. Special nephew Ryan Dodson. Many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Maxine (Norman) Dodson. Four brothers Raymond Dodson, James Dodson, Steve Dodson, and Richard Dodson. One sister Barbara Jean Bowman. The family would like to thank Shrivers Hospice for all their loving care for Bob through the last nine months.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 3, 2026 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park where Zanesville VFW Post #1058 will conduct military honors.
