MCCF Opens Spring Scholarship Season

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – As many families operate on tight budgets, finding ways to cut expenses is a crucial component of making ends meet.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation has opened its Spring Scholarship Season that offers 57 different possibilities for post secondary students to save on their educational costs.
“We have a number of different opportunities available for all types of students. So yes, we do have scholarships out there for our trade schools, our technical schools. So those interested in going into welding or CDL license, we do have opportunities available for that. We also have additional opportunities available for students who want to go into more of our traditional four-year colleges. So whether it’s education, music, we have scholarships that fit just about every major out there,” MCCF Program Director Beth Fox said.
The array of scholarships range from $500 dollars to $10,000 dollars and eligibility can vary from traditional high school age through adults following a non-traditional educational route.
“Scholarship season is exciting and stressful,” Fox said. “We will keep this scholarship season open for about five weeks this year. So we will close it on March 16th. I do know that there are a few scholarships that have different closing dates. But you can find all that information on our website. So you can check whether or not you are eligible and you can check what’s open at www.mccf.org. And all of your questions should be answered right there on the website and if not please don’t hesitate to call us here in the office,” at (740) 453-5192.
Last year, MCCF awarded nearly $1 Million dollars in scholarships to about 300 local students. The MCCF John McIntire Scholarship, which applies to Zanesville residents only, will open April 15th, and close May 10th.
