Florence Jeanette Darner, 98 of Zanesville, Ohio peacefully passed away in her sleep February 2, 2O26 at The Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville.

She was born at home in Roseville, Ohio June 22,1927. She was one of eight children born to Garry Lester Dady and Stella Harrison Dady. Florence married her husband, Floyd Darner, in 1949. Major (Ret) Floyd W. Darner passed away in 2006.

Survived by their only daughter Judi Dale of Zanesville, Ohio. Judi’s children, J.C. (Carol) Schaumleffel and their sons, Brendon Schaumleffel, Dillon (Bailey) Schaumleffel, Joseph (Elenita) Schaumleffel and their daughter, Kylie Schaumleffel and Kevin Dale and his sons, Ryan (Bia) Dale and Thomas Dale, Troy (Jodi) Dale and their children, Courtney (Alex) Weeks and Chloe (Ethan Heckel) Dale; and Florence’s sister-in-law, Blanche Dady, spouse of the late Merle Dady, whom they shared residence at The Oaks together.

Survived by much loved adopted Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great Grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews who adored her. Florence had many friends from years of Bowling and working the Election Polls. In addition, she had a huge following of Facebook friends, many she actually got to meet in real life.

She was preceded ln death by her brothers, Eugene, Merle, Bob, Jim and Bill all of Zanesville; sister Irene Neff of Crooksville and sister June Lawyer of Zanesville.

Florence, being a Military wife had the opportunity to travel, and she has experienced many places and things that folks may only dream about. Living in France for three years provided the chance of a lifetime to see the beauty of Europe. Prior to France, most of Floyd’s Army base assignments were in the deep Southern states of America. After all that, Floyd and Florence’s Appalachia roots drew them back to Ohio and family.
