Carmen Tate

Carmen A. Tate, 64 of Whitehall, died 1:40 AM, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Mt. Carmel East in Columbus, following several illnesses, including seventeen years of dialysis. She was born Saturday, February 18, 1961, in Zanesville, the daughter of George H. Williams and Darlene (Kennedy) Williams. She married Kevin Tate on Saturday, February 7, 1981, and attended Wings of Hope Tabernacle.
Carmen enjoyed all the DIY Shows, and was an avid reader. She was a passionate collector of Barbie Dolls. She enjoyed cooking the recipes she learned from her mother, and was a great cook. Carmen was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who greatly cared for her family. Her greatest joy was caring for her sons and grandson.
In addition to her mother, Carmen is survived by her husband, Kevin Tate; two children, Jeremy (Rachel) Tate, and Bryant Tate; her grandson, Ian Tate; two siblings, Diane Mayle and Scott Williams; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends
In addition to her father, Carmen was preceded in death by her father & mother-in-law, Wilbur & Betty Tate; her grandparents, Chester & Henrietta Williams; her husband’s grandparents, Willard & Elta Tate; two brothers-in-law, Gary Tate and Darwin Mayle, and her beloved pet companion Sheba.
Friends may call Monday, February 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at the Hillis Combs Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Pastor Steve Hale officiating. In accordance with Carmen’s wishes a caring cremation will follow.
