MCLS Presents Birds of a Feather

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Birds play many roles within their ecosystems around the world.
Muskingum County Library System Youth Service Manager Katie Merritt pitched a program that parades raptors and portrays the particular parts they perform during their pursuits.
“Our Birds of a Feather program, we’ve teamed up with the Ohio School of Falconry, who are located in Columbus.” Merritt said. “One this evening, is at Roseville’s Welcome Center. That takes place at 5 o’clock. And then on the 21st, we will be at OUZ in their auditorium at 1 o’clock for another show. And then our last show will be at New Concord on the 28th, at 12 o’clock.”
The Birds of a Feather experience is free for audiences members of any age. But the session will provide an opportunity for kids 9 and up to interact with the wildlife.
“Registration, you can just give us a call here at the library,” Merritt said. “We can register you or you can go on to our website to the event page and look at those dates that I mentioned. So today, the 21st, or the 28th, you’ll see Birds of a Feather. You just click it and register that way. All of our registrations are still open and available. So the more the merrier. Please come.”
The event will showcase the birds the Ohio School of Falconry has brought with them and point out the features that define how they survive in the wild.
