Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week; Meet Lucy!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week has a heart of gold.
Meet Lucy! She’s a 7-year-old terrier mix who’s spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and is eagerly searching for her new forever family.
Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, says Lucy came to them as an owner surrender but her personality has been shining through since her arrival.
“She does well with kids and cats, we have tested her with larger dogs here at the Adoption Center, we know that as well.” McQuaid said. “She loves to sit for a treat, she’ll even shake, likes to go for walks, seems to be very manageable on a leash, just be for someone who likes to go out and maybe do some exercising.”
McQuaid also advises with the warmer temperatures in our forecast, now is a good time to switch out the old straw in your pets outdoor home and give your animals a little refresh.
“Clean up the bowls, sometimes we’re not able to do that, with constantly putting out food and water.” McQuaid said. “Another great thing, if you would please, make sure with the snow and so forth when it melts that they’re not in their dog boxes or not in an area where there’s going to be water standing. For an animal to constantly be standing in water is very hard on the paws and sometimes it even makes it so where there are sores that start to develop.”
