Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week: Meet Bella!

Bella the Husky from the Animal Shelter Society Inc.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s time to check in with the Animal Shelter Society to meet the pet of the week. Bella is a 5-year-old husky who’s kid-friendly, cat-friendly, and just friendly in general. While huskies may have a reputation for being a handful, Executive Director April Gibson says Bella is an exception to the rule.

“She’s very easy. She doesn’t run, she loves to be with other animals, she loves a bath, she loves being brushed and usually, they don’t care for that. Huskies can be very temperamental, and Bella is just very high-energy and she absolutely loves people, as you can see,” Gibson said as Bella climbed onto her for attention. “She rides in the vehicle very well, she takes treats very gently, so she’s a very unique husky and she’s going to make a great dog for a family.”

The shelter society’s Ferral Felines Sing-a-Long Brunch fundraiser has sold out but if you are interested in attending an event to support the Animal Shelter Society, you can still get your tickets to the Yappy Hour.

“Get ahold of us for Yappy Hour. Beau Moyer does an amazing job being the chair, that’s on the board of directors for this. So, you can reach out to us, you can stop by, you can call, you can go on our website. There’s all kinds of ways to get ahold of us and just remember… stuff like this is what makes our events go and so that we can take care of animals like Bella that come in cause the family couldn’t. So we appreciate everybody’s support,” Gibson said.
