ZANESVILLE, OH- The Zanesville District Golf Association is gearing up for its annual Golf Show. It’s a tradition spanning more than 40 years that combines fun on the greens with a mission to support local youth. This year’s event tees off  from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Zanesville Country Club.

Attendees can expect a putting contest for adults and kids, door prizes, a silent auction, and merchandise sales. New this year is Trackman competitions for closest to the pin and long drive. Organizers invite guests to meet representatives and pros from premier area courses, try out new clubs, and chat with experts. Tickets cost $5, with every paid adult ticket allowing a child in free.

“It’s the fellowship, yes raising money, supporting kids is all awesome, but when you look back and see the relationships that you’ve made and how those are lifelong, my whole families relationships were based around golf, my kids, my dad got us into it, my nephews, and just our whole family, we love it, the golf, but we love the fellowship more,” said Z.D.G.A. President Mike Durant.

The event’s core focus remains fundraising for Junior Golf Youth Scholarships, which helps local high schoolers pursue higher education. Over the years, the association has awarded more than $120,000 in scholarships.

“The kids that play in our junior tournaments and are successful in their high school arena, they submit applications and we got through a process of evaluating and we select kids that are really well rounded, and we want to help them go off to college and accomplish their dreams,” said Durant.

Proceeds from ’s show will continue that legacy. For more information you can visit the Z.D.G.A. website or Facebook page.
