ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A Muskingum County Children Services Worker has been arrested and is charged with 11 counts of records tampering.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s office said in a press release that Ashley Steele falsified legal documentation, which is a third-degree felony. The first 10 counts involve her falsifying information in reports she filed as a caseworker for Muskingum County Children Services, and the final count involves Steele providing a document falsely stating she had a prior conviction sealed.

Children’s Services immediately terminated Ashley Steele and contacted law enforcement when her alleged actions were discovered. Steele had previously been convicted of theft of property in 2021 in Guernsey County.
