Man Arrested in Muskingum County Drug Trafficking Investigation

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — On Monday, March 2, interdiction units with the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and the Zanesville Police Department’s Joint Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop on Darrin Wade.

The stop was part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation involving the Joint Drug Unit and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force into Wade’s alleged drug trafficking operation.

Wade was taken into custody during the stop after deputies discovered he had an active arrest warrant. Through the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for a residence at 1145 Adams Circle.

The warrant was executed in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 3. According to Sheriff Matt Lutz, large amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl were seized, along with a 9-millimeter handgun. The case will be forwarded to Muskingum County Prosecutor Ron Welch for review.
