Zanesville, Ohio- A local bank met with County Commissioners today.

Century National Bank discussed plans to fund the Philo bridge project with County Commissioners. Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Lending, Jim Blythe, explains Century is always interested in helping fund local projects.

“Well the main thing was to let them know that we definitely have an interest in helping out. We’re always trying to help out in the community. That’s a great project for us to be involved in and we want to make sure we have the ability to at least put a bid in to provide the financing for the project.”

Blythe notes that County Commissioners will have a better grip on the project soon.

“In about three months they will have a clearer picture on what the costs will be, what the amount funded will be. At that point we will be able to start looking at putting a proposal together. We were able to find out how long they want to finance the bridge for; gave them a basic idea what the rates might be and we will go from there.”

Muskingum County is responsible for 5 percent of the cost of the bridge with the rest of the funding coming from the State, Federal and various grants.
