Timber Run Gardens Gets You Ready For Spring

2017.03.19 Spring . 11

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The weather may not feel like it, but tomorrow is the first day of Spring, and we spoke to Timber Run Gardens about some tips for getting your homes ready for the warm-weather months.

Owner Steve Carter says that while the weather may not be ideal right now, homeowners can still start preparing their yards and gardens.

“Depending on the weather, the way it is right now is not so good, but typical for this time of the year. You know, March is a very temperamental month. Most of the trees and shrubs this time of the year can be planted, if the grounds suitable– not too wet, not frozen. The sensitive stuff, anything that’s frost sensitive still, you have to be careful about,” explained Carter.

Carter added that in Ohio, it will likely be sometime at the beginning of May before those delicate flowers can safely be planted without concern for the weather.

And for those homeowners looking for a good deal on their gardening needs, Timber Run is sure to have some specials that will pique your interest.

“We have what we call our ‘Weekend Special’ and we have a variety of different things each weekend on sale and customers like to take advantage of those bargains,” said Carter.

Timber Run Gardens also has spring workshops coming up. For information on those you can visit their website at www.timberrungardens.com.
