Pet of the Week!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — If you’re looking too add a friendly feline to your home, The Animal Shelter Society has the perfect match for you.

Executive Director Jody Murray introduced us to our pet of the week this morning– a loving Maine Coon named Dolly.

“This is Dolly, and Dolly is a Maine Coon. She came into the Shelter back in February as a stray. This particular breed are just wonderful to have as house cats; they’re very friendly.  Her adoption is sponsored, her adoption fee is only $20, which again, always includes vaccinations, micro-chipped, she’s already had her surgery,” said Murray.

Unfortunately for Dolly when she arrived at The Animal Shelter, she had a severe situation with one of her eyes. the veterinarians were unable to treat the issue and had to take alternative action.

“As you can see she had some issues with one of her eyes, it was just in very poor shape so she had to have one of her eyes removed. But she still is a very, very friendly cat. Other than the issue with her eye she is very healthy, and she’s recovered nicely from that so she’s ready to be adopted,” added Murray.

The Animal Shelter Society reminds everyone that their “Yappy Hour” event will take place next Thursday, March 30th from 5-7PM at Zanesville Country Club. There will be auction items, a variety of chef’s cooking signature dishes, and opportunities for local businesses to network with other business owner’s in the area. Tickets still remain.
