Phillip Simpson

Phillip “Simp” Simpson, 72, of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 24, 2026, at his home.
He was born on September 16, 1953, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Bill Simpson and Natalie (Ford) Simpson. Simp graduated from Cambridge High School in 1971. He worked at EG Smith/Centria, as a dog warden, and later as a truck driver for several years. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, as well as USC Trojans. In his free time, he loved golfing and playing men’s softball. Above all, he loved spending his time with his family and loved ones.
Simp is survived by his 7 children: Cheresa “CC” (Anthony Caffey) Simpson, Shanda (Mark) Turner, Diedra (Martae) Simpson, Brandy (Ben) VanDyne, Troy (Brenda) Travis, Trent (Jade) Brownfield, T’Ria Brownfield; spouse, Christine (Brownfield) Simpson; grandchildren: 19 grandchildren: Shawn Ball, Re’onna Dansby, Unique Hampton, De’Mikeal Simpson, Javon Masters, Tavionna Simpson, Ta’Jion Simpson, Thomas Simpson, Nash VanDyne, Paisley VanDyne, Jimi VanDyne, Ricky Travis, Logan Travis, Brayden Bethel, Bryson Bethel, Eden Bugher, Hayvin Baker, Amaylee Brownfield, Ryder Brownfield; several great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dawn (Allen) Canel, Jodi Brownfield; special friends, Leonard Crawford, Dave Snode, Terry Todd, Strawberry White, Freddie Crawford, Mike Andrews, Mark Gibson, Scott Quarles, Jay “JayBird” Quarles, Allen Henderson; special niece, Trina “Badness” Payton; family friend, Clyde Chandler; special cat and dog, Scar and Keke; special grand dog, Harlow; many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Hollins; granddaughter, Ar’mani Masters; father and mother-in-law, Don (Sandy) Brownfield; special niece and nephew, Stevie Quarles and Joey Brownfield.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday March 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Bonnell Cremations Funerals Receptions, where services will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Bob Hollins officiating.
