Locals Hit the Links to Embrace Summer-like Weather

Green Valley Hosts Second Annual Golf Scramble For Zpd K 9 Unit

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Locals hit the links this afternoon to enjoy this “Summer in April” weather.

Golfers made their way out to Green Valley Golf Course all day to take advantage of perfect playing conditions and General Manager Steve Galloway says that with leagues getting ready to begin, the course is sure to remain busy.

“It’s a beautiful day and this whole week expects to be very good weather. We had our senior league this morning, and leagues are starting all this week. My men’s leagues will be starting the first of next month, my lady’s leagues will be starting, so this weather kind of brings everybody out,” said Galloway.

Galloway added that despite the heavy amounts of rain over the last couple of weeks, the course drains very well and is in great shape for the upcoming season.

While Green Valley is a full 18-hole golf course, most of the holes are par 3’s which gives players an opportunity to play much quicker rounds than they would elsewhere.

“It’s an executive golf course, it’s 18-holes, we have five par 4’s, the rest par 3’s. the good thing about green valley is that you can play in about three hours, 18 holes, where a typical course takes four-and-a-half, five to play,” added Galloway.

Green Valley is a great course for top golfers as well. Galloway explains that the high number of par 3’s gives those top players an opportunity to work on their irons and short game;  something he says every golfer should focus on if they are trying to lower their handicap.

Green fees are $12.00 during the week for adults, and $10.00 for juniors, seniors and veterans. You can contact the course to book your next tee time at (740)452-7105.
