Carl Hartman

Carl M. Hartman, 72, of Zanesville, passed away on March 30, 2026, at his home.
He was born on May 7, 1953, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Clyde Hartman and Irene James. Carl was a Christian by faith. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the San Francisco 49ers, and loved Dale Earnhardt. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards with his sisters or visiting Lucky’s Bar or “The Office” as he would call it.
Carl is survived by his 2 sons: Shane Hartman of Florida and Chad (Jennifer) Hartman; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 3 stepchildren: Mindy Jackson, Carolyn Burrell, and Tony (Jeanette) Jackson of Arizona; 4 siblings: Melodie Gibson, Claudette (Michael) Shilling, Rapsodie (Gray) Adams, Fred (Jamie) Hartman; Lucky’s Bar group of friends and bartenders; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cecilia “Cecy” Hartman.
Per Carl’s wishes, a dignified cremation has been entrusted to DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
