Clara Kish

Clara L “Cherry” Kish, 97, of Zanesville, left this world Saturday evening, April 4th, 2026. She was employed by Brockway Glass, leaving there to become a housewife, and focus on her children and husband. She was also an award-winning Avon rep in the 70s. Although she faced many hard times and much tragedy in her life, her inner resilience and faith resulted in stoicism that helped her weather the toughest of times. The many friends and family members she leaves behind will always remember her sunny personality, her ever-present smile, and her skills as a master cookie baker.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frank; two sons, Robert Wayne, and Steve; and a daughter, Charlotte. She leaves behind two sons: Fred (Debbie) King, of Georgia; and John (Stacie), of Zanesville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter; and a special friend, Sally Hathaway.
A heartfelt thanks from the family to the residence and staff of Brookdale Nursing Home, where she spent her last years. She was dearly loved there, as evidenced by the ceremony that was held there in her honor. Both friends and staff went above and beyond to make sure she received proper care, and their efforts are deeply appreciated by the family.
Calling hours will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home in White Cottage, Ohio, The service will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Reverend William Blair officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Genesis Hospice Care, who gave her outstanding treatment for the last year of her life.
