Laretha Chambers

Laretha June Chambers, 98, of East Fultonham, passed away at 2:44 a.m. Sunday April 5, 2026 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born on August 11, 1927 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Jesse and Jessie (Kirkbride) Flynn. She was a longtime secretary at Clossman’s Hardware in downtown Zanesville, working until they closed in 1983. She is survived by five children: June Ann Hammer of the home, William “Gene” (Lori) Chambers, Nancy Lee Swartz, Joseph Thomas (Kris) Chambers, and Aneta Kay (Jeff) Snyder. 14 grandchildren, 37 greatgrandchildren and 8 great-greatgrandchildren. One sister Jessie Kathryn Yost. A brother-in-law Terry “Chub” (Judy) Chambers. A sister-in-law Jeanie Chambers. Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Chambers. One brother Willard Flynn. Two sisters Edna Coble and Virginia Vernon. One daughter-in-law Teresa Lynn “Terre” Chambers.

Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday April 8, 2026 and from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 9, 2026 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Paul Bugglin officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
