East Muskingum Levy Fails/Sr. Center Passes
ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The votes have been cast and the results are in for election night in Muskingum County.
The East Muskingum Local School District’s two part issue was voted down in Tuesday’s special election. The first part of the issue, which included construction and improvement of the athletic complex and auditorium was voted down by nearly 900 votes. The second part, which called for permanent improvements for the school district, was voted down.
In other races, the Muskingum County Senior Center’s half-mill five-year renewal levy was passed by nearly 1,700 votes; while Dresden did not have the same success as their 2-mill road levy was voted down 116 to 80.
Lastly, the Rolling Hills School District levy which called for 4.9 mills for 30-years towards school construction failed by over 800 votes.
