Locals observe 66th National Day of Prayer

Day Of Prayer

ZANESVILLE, Ohio –  Community members from all different church affiliations came to observe National Day of Prayer Thursday evening at New Hope Full Gospel Church.

This was the 66th observance of National Day of Prayer, which falls on the first Thursday of every May.

This years theme is ‘For Your Great Name’s Sake’ taken from the scripture of Daniel 9:19.

Thousands of events were held nationwide. Pastor, Joe DiVincenzo, said they will especially pray for our country, because they believe the nation is in trouble and our society is divided.

“We come together once a year on this day. It doesn’t matter what nationality, it doesn’t matter what church, said DiVincenzo. We come and pray and ask God for help. We believe that our nation is suffering.”

Many members of the community, commissioners, and the mayor all attended the prayer service, which consisted of 15 minutes of worship, a speaker, and video.
