Jay Smith

Gerald “Jay” Allen Smith Jr., 52 of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on April 13, 2026. Jay was born on March 5, 1974, to Gerald Sr. and Darlene Donnelly. Jay is preceded in death by his father.
Jay leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Darlene; father, Gerald Sr.; wife, Shannon; two children, Gavin (Sable) and Garrett; two stepchildren, Trevor and Shane; significant other, Amy; granddaughter, Anna Lynn; brother, Shane; half-brothers, Kevin and Jody.
Jay was a loving father to his two boys, Gavin and Garrett. He was a hardworking man who cared deeply for his family and friends. Jay was always quick with a joke. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. His biggest hobby in life was cars; he enjoyed everything about them. Jay was a person that always stopped to help someone in need no matter if it was a friend or stranger. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
