Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week: Meet Millie!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Pet of the Week is a sweet and sassy girl.

Meet Millie! She’s a 5-year-old poodle who’s spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and is searching for a place to call home.

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, says Millie does well with other dogs and is great with everyone she meets, however she does tend to eat things that aren’t normally on the menu.

“She has a tendency to chew on towels and foreign objects like that.” Gibson said. “So we’re going to have to make sure that whoever adopts her, that they are mindful of her surroundings and that she’s just kind of mischievous, but there’s no other issues. There was nothing with neglect or abuse, it’s just that they couldn’t have the time to care for her anymore.”

Gibson was also happy to announce a month-long recycling initiative that’s going on with Muskingum Iron and Metal.

From now until the end of the month, for every aluminum can collected at the Shelter Muskingum Iron and Metal will match it.

She also wanted to say a special thanks to those that have made all of the upcoming Feral Feline Brunches a success.

“How cool is it that the Animal Shelter Society are the ones who were able to bring the ladies brunch entertainment to Muskingum County, we’re very proud of that.” Gibson said. “We sold out in February, we sold out for this Saturday. Tiny Tap and the Densmore’s, we can’t thank them enough. Jen Dittmar as the Chair has done an amazing job.”
